Our Story
It's our 11th summer at Studio143, which is hard for us to wrap our minds around. In many ways our studio has changed over the last decade. In other ways it has remained the same.
We are still a small, female-owned business with a team of amazing teachers who offer yoga, pilates, sculpt, barre, Zumba®, aerial, prenatal, workshops and more. We are still deeply rooted in our South Shore community.
Studio143 is a community-oriented studio dedicated to enhancing the lives of all its practitioners through meditation, Pilates, Barre, and Zumba®, as well as all levels of Yoga. Our classes and programs cater to men, women, and children of all ages and abilities — each teacher bringing their own style and expertise to the mat.
Thank you for showing up on your mat, day after day. It is a pleasure practicing with you and growing with you.

The Practice
Whether you're introducing yourself to yoga, deepening an existing practice, or dancing your stress away in Zumba®, there's a class for you. Studio-heated classes are marked with an asterisk.
Feeling overwhelmed? Too many things to do…not enough time! Need some time out? Through short talks, yoga, interactive discussions, guided breathing and meditative experiences, we explore ways to focus the mind and bring mindful attention to each moment. Both beginners and experienced meditators are welcome!
Appropriate for all levels. Students explore the subtleties of alignment, breath and sensory awareness in preparation for a period of seated meditation. 90 minutes of yoga followed by an optional 30 minutes of walking and seated meditation.
These classes link postures to balance the body and clear the energy channels, fully experiencing the energetic effects of the practice through ujjayi pranayama, the warming "whisper breath."
A 60-minute session beginning with centering and warm-ups, moving to a soft vinyasa with sun salutations, standing sequences and floor work, ending in a period of cooling and deep relaxation (savasana).
A 75-minute slow flow class done on the floor in a calming candlelit room filled with delightful scents and beautiful music. Expect assists, gentle touch and a relaxing 15-minute guided meditation to close. Appropriate for beginners to advanced.
A challenging, vigorous and empowering class with plenty of options throughout so you can modify and adapt to your body's needs. This practice sculpts and detoxifies the body while awakening the mind.
A complementary practice to more yang styles like power and vinyasa flow. Poses are held longer, in relative stillness, reaching the deep connective tissues and ligaments while preparing the mind and body for meditation.
A fusion of Yin and Yang yoga. Poses are held in stillness for several minutes using props, then transition into a flow introducing alignment, breath and fluidity — warming, soothing and strengthening from the inside out.
A gentle flow class suitable for prenatal and postnatal women, connecting students with their bodies in preparation for or recovery from birth. All levels welcome.
Incorporates hand weights and high-intensity cardio bursts for a maximum calorie-burning effect, adding new challenge to a traditional yoga class along with a challenging core workout.
Set to fun and energetic music, each class incorporates an upper body workout with weights and high-intensity sequences of thigh, seat and core exercises at the barre, followed by a stretching section for long, lean muscle.
A combination of Barre, yoga and Pilates mat work. Explore props like weights, balls and circles to sculpt arms, legs and glutes while strengthening your core. All levels, no experience necessary.
A series of exercises that develop core abdominal muscles and strengthen the back. Props such as stability balls, resistance rings, thera-bands and light weights may be used.
A combination of Pilates mat work, yoga and Barre. Light free weights and other props are sometimes used for a well-rounded, full-body session.
Add variety to your routine with weights, balls, circles and a little bit of Barre to sculpt arms, legs and glutes while strengthening your core for that long, lean Pilates look. All levels welcome.
Kids Need Yoga Too
A fun-filled class where kids learn basic yoga poses through games, music and activities, get their wiggles out with age-appropriate cardio, and calm down with relaxation.
Kids learn to focus and center with breathing and visualization techniques, self-respect and respect for others through poses, partner work, games and basic anatomy.
Students are ready to learn more poses and complete a full yoga class, including meditation techniques that help them focus and quiet the mind.
A Studio143 Signature
A combination of traditional yoga poses done on the floor, and postures practiced using a soft fabric "sling" suspended at waist height — the same fabric aerialists use in the circus. In aerial yoga, your body weight is distributed between the fabric and the floor, allowing you to access traditional postures in new ways.
Please do not wear jewelry. Wear leggings or long pants comfortable to move in — zippers or buckles can catch in and tear the silks.

Celebrate With Us
Birthday parties at Studio143 are fun and unique — choose between a Zumba®, Yoga or Aerial Yoga party! Kids don't have to have ALL the fun — we also offer parties for adults.
Children and adults love Zoga — a combination of Zumba® and Yoga created by Cindia Norton as an after-school program. Get fueled up and energized with Zumba®, then relax, stretch and wind down with Yoga.
Zumba® parties include props such as tambourines and belly-dancing skirts. Yoga parties include mats, blocks and balls. Parties run 90 minutes at the studio — about 45 minutes for the special party class, followed by 45 minutes for cake and gifts. We set up, run the party and clean up so you can enjoy yourself; parents supply food/cake, drinks and paper goods.
